Those who have attended over the years know the special joys of this mid-winter celebration of seeds and prairie gardeners. Our Seedy Saturday brings together gardeners, farmers, seed growers and seed savers, native plant enthusiasts, conservation groups, horticultural societies --- anyone ready to dream about spring in the company of friends --- for a day of great connections and new ideas.
Volunteers from The Friends of Gardens Manitoba, the Winnipeg Community Garden Network and Seeds of Diversity Canada join forces to present our 13th annual local version of this national phenomenon. This year Kenton Lobe (instructor at the Canadian Mennonite University) and Julia Laforge (USC Canada volunteer) are coordinating the event. Both have experience with Seedy Saturdays but this is their first time organizing the event in Winnipeg.
Our location at CMU is accessible by public transport and is beautifully located on the edge of Assiniboine Forest.
Set up: Saturday March 9, 8:30 – 10:00 am.
Take down: 3:00 – 4:00 pm
Educational displays and non-profit groups continue to enjoy free table space at this event. Funds raised through table rentals ($30/ table) to towards running the event with all extra funds going to Seeds of Diversity Canada.
If your organization is interested in attending, please fill in the information below and return it via email. Any questions, please call Julia at 204-475-0226. Thanks!

The new location at CMU- South Campus 600 Shaftesbury Blvd.
(note the South Campus is not the same building where Gardening Saturday happens!) offers lots of room, is accessible by public transport and is beautifully located on the edge of Assiniboine Forest.
Admission is by donation - suggested minimum $2.00.
Seedy Saturday is designed to be a grassroots event accessible to a wide community, and we have always kept expenses and fees very low. The reality of the new location means we have bigger bills to pay, so the donation box must take on a more prominent role. See you there!
